Every pupils counts
Heathfield is already a high-attaining school in mathematics, but the team is clear that strong whole-school outcomes do not remove the need to look closely at the children who are finding maths hardest.
Their aim for Groundwork Maths is very specific: to help close the gap for the lowest-attaining 10% of children in school, ensuring that strong overall attainment is matched by equally strong support for those who need it most.

Our story
For over a decade, we’ve supported maths education around the world. We started out as classroom teachers, driven by a shared belief that every child deserves to feel confident and successful in maths.
Along the way, we’ve helped shape resources and approaches now used in schools across England and in over 140 countries. Rethink Maths exists to support high-quality content, inspiring professional development and a positive experience of maths for everyone.
